How fees work

What a visit costs depends on your plan, your treatment and your dentist's exam. Here is how each part works, and what you can ask us to put in writing.

  • Insurance we work with

Tell us your plan when you book and we'll say plainly whether we are in network. Either way, we send the claim to your plan for you.

    • PPO and indemnity plans: we send the claim

    • DHMO plans: call first, these work differently

    • Medicare and Medicare Advantage: dental benefits vary by plan

    • Medicaid and CHIP: ask us and we'll give you a straight yes or no

  • If you pay yourself

No insurance is fine. You pay the fee for your visit, and we tell you what it will be before any work begins. Financing is offered by third-party lenders. Approval and terms are set by the lender.

  • Receipts for reimbursement

Paying us yourself and filing with your plan afterward? We hand you an itemized statement of the visit to send in. What your plan pays back is the plan's decision.

  • An estimate in advance

Anyone paying without insurance, and anyone who asks, gets a written estimate in advance. It names each treatment, how many visits it takes and what it will cost.

    • Ask when you book or at your visit

    • In writing, before treatment starts

  • Checking your benefits

Our front desk looks up your benefits before your first visit and tells you what your plan says it covers. If the plan's own estimate differs from ours, we show you both.

  • What the first visit includes

Plan on about an hour: an exam, X-rays only if your dentist decides you need them, and a talk about what they found. Bring your card, a photo ID and a list of the medicines you take.

    • An exam, and the X-rays your dentist decides on

    • A written plan with your options

    • Time for your questions

An estimate is what we expect to bill. Your plan's final payment can differ, and we explain any difference before you pay.

Questions about paying

How do I get a written estimate?

Ask when you book or at your visit. After your exam your dentist lists the treatment, the visits it takes and what it will cost, and our front desk goes over your benefits with you.

What if my plan pays less than the estimate?

A plan's estimate belongs to the plan, not to us. If its final payment differs, we explain the difference before you pay and go over your choices.

Do you offer financing?

Financing is offered by third-party lenders. Approval and terms are set by the lender. Ask the front desk for the lender's own terms before you decide.
